The Castle Arms is an award-winning character inn nestled in the tranquil and picturesque village of Snape. Conveniently located just off the A1 between Bedale and Masham, it provides the perfect base for exploring the many attractions of both the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North York Moors National Park.
Our nine well-appointed and comfortable bedrooms are set within beautifully converted former stables, arranged around an attractive courtyard at the rear of the property. The main building, a 17th-century Grade II listed inn, is full of charm and character, featuring original flagged floors, oak beams and cosy roaring fires.
Each bedroom is furnished to a high standard with coordinated décor and country-style furniture, while retaining many original architectural features. All rooms offer modern en-suite bath or shower facilities, central heating, colour television, and tea and coffee-making amenities.
A complimentary continental breakfast is included with your stay, and a freshly cooked breakfast is available at an additional charge in our restaurant. Our restaurant and bar also serve delicious home-cooked food throughout the day, complemented by a wide selection of cask ales, fine wines and spirits — perfect to enjoy with your meal or by the fire.
We are a pet-friendly inn and welcome well-behaved pets for a one-off charge of 15 GBP per stay.
Local attractions include Thorpe Perrow Arboretum, the breweries of Masham, Lightwater Valley, the World Heritage Site Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Park, as well as the cathedral city of Ripon.
